U.S. EXPORT SALES FOR WEEK ENDING 6/16/2022
Hides and Skins:
Net sales of
446,200 pieces for 2022 were down 22 percent from the previous week, but up 6
percent from the prior 4-week average.
Increases primarily for China (244,300
whole cattle hides, including decreases of 15,000 pieces), Thailand (81,000
whole cattle hides, including decreases of 700 pieces), South Korea (52,500
whole cattle hides, including decreases of 1,000 pieces), Mexico (26,300 whole
cattle hides, including decreases of 1,300 pieces), and Brazil (14,900 whole
cattle hides, including decreases of 700 pieces), were offset by reductions
primarily for Canada (900 pieces) and Peru (600 pieces).
Exports of 349,500 pieces were down 32 percent from the previous week and
18 percent from the prior 4-week average.
Whole cattle hides exports were primarily to China (181,000 pieces),
Mexico (60,800 pieces), South Korea (53,900 pieces), Thailand (28,800 pieces),
and Brazil (9,600 pieces).
Net
sales of 250,700 wet blues for 2022 were up 40 percent from the previous week
and 63 percent from the prior 4-week average.
Increases reported for China (182,400 unsplit, including decreases of 100
unsplit), Italy (62,700 unsplit and 4,500 grain splits), Vietnam (29,800 unsplit),
and Taiwan (1,500 unsplit), were offset by reductions primarily for Mexico
(15,400 unsplit) and Thailand (9,500 unsplit).
Total net sales of 1,000 wet blues for 2023 were reported for Mexico.
Exports of 147,800 wet blues were down 20 percent from the previous week,
but up 3 percent from the prior 4-week average.
The destinations were primarily to China (49,200 unsplit), Vietnam
(36,300 unsplit), Thailand (28,100 unsplit), Italy (19,900 unsplit), and Mexico
(10,300 unsplit). Net sales of
65,700 splits were up noticeably from the previous week, but down 78 percent
from the prior 4-week average.
Increases reported for Taiwan (46,500 pounds) and Vietnam (21,500 pounds,
including decreases of 1,300 pounds), were offset by reductions for South Korea
(2,300 pounds). Exports of 554,700
pounds were down 4 percent from the previous week, but up 26 percent from the
prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to Vietnam (428,300
pounds).
