U.S. EXPORT SALES FOR WEEK ENDING 7/18/2024

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 443,800 pieces for 2024 were down 7 percent from the previous week, but up 15 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases primarily for China (368,300 whole cattle hides, including decreases of 29,500 pieces), Brazil (20,100 whole cattle hides, including decreases of 100 pieces), Mexico (16,200 whole cattle hides, including decreases of 13,400 pieces), South Korea (14,000 whole cattle hides, including decreases of 200 pieces), and Thailand (11,800 whole cattle hides, including decreases of 1,500 pieces), were offset by reductions for Taiwan (200 pieces). Exports of 384,800 pieces were up 7 percent from the previous week and 3 percent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hides exports were primarily to China (265,100 pieces), Mexico (38,200 pieces), Thailand (35,800 pieces), South Korea (25,900 pieces), and Brazil (11,000 pieces). In addition, exports of 2,600 kip skins were to Belgium.

Net sales of 156,300 wet blues for 2024 were down 22 percent from the previous week, but up 7 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases primarily for Italy (85,900 unsplit, including decreases of 3,800 unsplit), Vietnam (48,500 unsplit, including decreases of 100 unsplit), China (11,700 unsplit), Taiwan (4,800 unsplit), and Mexico (4,200 grain splits and 200 unsplit), were offset by reductions for Thailand (400 grain splits). Total net sales of 2,400 unsplit for 2025 were for Italy. Exports of 150,700 wet blues were up 26 percent from the previous week and 11 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to Vietnam (45,400 unsplit), China (34,300 unsplit), Italy (25,500 unsplit), Thailand (25,000 unsplit), and Mexico (8,500 unsplit). Net sales of 161,500 splits were reported for Vietnam (160,600 pounds) and South Korea (900 pounds). Exports of 82,400 splits were to Vietnam.
