U.S. EXPORT SALES FOR WEEK ENDING 5/8/2025

Hides and Skins: Net sales of 331,700 pieces for 2025 were up 17 percent from the previous week and 60 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases primarily for South Korea (134,000 whole cattle hides, including decreases of 1,300 pieces), Thailand (86,200 whole cattle hides, including decreases of 400 pieces), Cambodia (41,500 whole cattle hides), Mexico (20,800 whole cattle hides, including decreases of 700 pieces), and Taiwan (13,200 whole cattle hides), were offset by reductions for Turkey (100 pieces). Exports of 246,800 whole cattle hides were down 3 percent from the previous week, but up 5 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to China (77,600 pieces), Mexico (58,500 pieces), South Korea (39,600 pieces), Thailand (30,100 pieces), and Brazil (20,900 pieces).

Net sales of 27,300 wet blues for 2025 were down 66 percent from the previous week and 75 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases reported for Vietnam (33,800 unsplit), Thailand (31,100 unsplit), and China (100 unsplit), were offset by reductions for Italy (37,700 unsplit). Total net sales of 60,200 wet blues for 2026 were for Italy. Exports of 116,100 wet blues were down 5 percent from the previous week and 1 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to Vietnam (38,400 unsplit), Italy (36,200 unsplit and 1,500 grain splits), Thailand (20,500 unsplit), China (8,200 unsplit), and Bangladesh (3,200 unsplit). Total net sales of 43,500 splits, including decreases of 38,400 pounds were for Vietnam.  Exports of 47,600 splits were to Vietnam.
