WASHINGTON, Dec. 18, 2009— The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) and Canadian trade show organizers today invited U.S. companies to exhibit their products in the USA Pavilion at two upcoming trade-only events to promote U.S. food and beverage products. The Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association (CRFA) show will be held in Toronto, Ontario, March 7-9, 2010. SIAL Canada will be held in Montreal, Quebec, April 21-23, 2010.
CRFA is the largest foodservice and hospitality event in Canada with more than 1,200 booths and 12,000 trade visitors. Most major foodservice companies are centered in Toronto, the largest city in Canada. U.S. exporters of food and catering products, as well as wines and spirits for the hotel, restaurant, and institutional industry, are encouraged to participate in this event.
SIAL Canada is one of the most important food and beverage trade exhibitions in Canada, attracting an average of 600 exhibitors and 15,000 industry professionals annually representing all market segments, including large-scale distribution, trading companies, import-export, wholesale distribution, specialty retail, foodservice, as well as food manufacturing.
Canada is the United States’ largest export destination for agricultural, fish and forestry products, with U.S. exports reaching almost $18 billion in fiscal year 2009.
Exhibiting in the USA Pavilion provides U.S. exporters and distributors with the opportunity for a cost-effective way to promote products and learn, first-hand, about regional market trends.
Products with the best market prospects at the CRFA Show include healthy and convenience food options; organic foods; soy and whole grain products; sauces and salad dressings; ethnic and kosher foods; fish and seafood; snacks; exotic fruits and vegetables; and many other value-added food items or related products.
Opportunities exist for just about every U.S. product category at SIAL Canada.
